The Alumni LLC – Entertainment on the Front Lines

Published on July 19, 2010 by in Trademark News

You don’t have to be part of the military to live in Iraq these days.  Engineer, Robert Deon Bob, aka “Scott Free” moved to Iraq in 2005, soon after being honorably discharged after serving over 7 years in the Army. That’s right. He returned to Iraq as a civilian. What is he doing there?

Scott, originally from Beaumont Texas, began hosting live poetry events and talent shows for the soldiers and civilian contractors while he was in the Army. He did this in an effort to boost morale.  He eventually formed a group, The Alumni LLC and added the following performers: Matt Sion, Nasstassia (Society’s Poet) Sitze, Lamyra (Lyric Kantrail) McGee, Dorian (Black) Grant, Alonzo (Zo) Wright, Santos (Paco) Rivera, and Monique (Promise) Woods, Choice Bolton, and Amanda (Alley Cat) Wright.

Scott Free is now an Iraq celebrity and his performance schedule revolves around four weekly events on various camps in Baghdad; The Writer’s Block, The House of Poetry, The Vibe, and The VBC Poetry Lounge.  At every event there is standing room only.

What makes Scott’s poems so popular?  They are not “read” – they are performed as Spoken Word. His topics are things people can relate to such as relationships, love, heartbreak, heartache, jealously, politics and religion.  He speaks from the heart and obviously, touches on emotions that people can identify with, especially when far from home.

The Alumni LLC will soon be distributing DVDs, CDs, books, and clothing via the company’s website, thealumnillc.com.

The National Trademark Center and TrademarksProtected.com are proud to support The Alumni, LLC, the US Troops, and their efforts overseas.
